Microsoft security essentials problem please help!?
so i just downloaded MSE from cnet(Download.com) and as soon as i installed it the MSE icon in the tool bar was red and it said that MSE isn't monitoring my computer because the program service stopped working and says you should restart it now then i press "start now" and a window pops up and says couldn't start MSE-access is denied (i have vista btw and i looked for any other spyware programs on my cpu and didn't find anything) PLEASE HELP
You don't say if you opened the program once installed so that it can scan your computer first before it can be activated as well as establish your settings and check for Updates. Click on the Red icon and an Open bar will pop-up to take you to the program. If you have done all that and it still want restart, I would definitely check for updates. If all seems clear there, I recommend you do a simple restart of your computer to jump start MSE. Not a shutdown.
