How Do I Change Default Email Font Size with AT&T Yahoo Browser Toolbar?
I'm trying to help out my Dad with a computer problem but he is in Norther California and I am in Seattle. His Internet Provider (IP) is SBC Global, his Operating System (OS) is Microsoft XP, his Browser is Internet Explorer-8, and he has the AT&T Yahoo Browser Toolbar.
Dad has difficulty reading the font size for his email and wants to change the default font size but so far hasn't had any luck. It is difficult for me to help him because I don't have that toolbar and I'm not familiar with it. Short of installing it on my computer I'll ask all you smart folks for help :--)
How do you permanently change the default font size for email (and for all views such as reading websites) using the AT&T Yahoo Browser Toolbar?
Thank you for your help.
Karen & Dad (Jim)
You shouldn't focus your attention on the AT&T Yahoo Browser Toolbar. Toolbars provide a convenient shortcut to get to your Mail webpage. Alternatively you could enter the URL in the address bar (e.g., mail.yahoo.com) or use a bookmark or favorite. It's the webpage designer who determined the default font and size. If your dad is using Yahoo e-mail, then I understand why he is having problems. The font size used to display the inbox is very small. There are no provisions for people with poor eyesight (or visual impairment). The assumption is probably to use the accessibility features of the Operating System (e.g. the Magnifier). It's only when you compose new e-mail or reply to existing e-mail that you are provided with the opportunity to specify font and font size. Many browsers have Zoom and Text Size buttons. Neither work well for Yahoo mail under Internet Explorer. The best result I have found is to view Yahoo mail under the Firefox browser using one or two levels of Zoom In. Somewhat off topic, the AT&T Yahoo browser is no longer supported. AT&T recommends Internet Explorer or Mozilla (Firefox).

Microsoft Registry Cleaner – How Do I Choose a Microsoft Registry Cleaner?
The Windows registry is a powerful but mysterious directory. We don’t know much about it because we never have to go into it. Yet it contains information and commands on all software and hardware on our computers. This information is highly sensitive, any alterations can have a profound effect on your computer. And unfortunately our registry often needs to be fixed and optimized. But since we don’t know much about it, this can be a difficult task. This is where the Microsoft registry cleaner comes in.
Whether it be a Windows XP registry cleaner, Vista, or any other Microsoft OS, we require software to fix corrupt registry problems and remove unnecessary files. As we download more programs and uninstall others, the registry becomes chock full of information and commands that either slow our computer down or cause serious windows errors. The best registry software can do the following for us:
- Ability to clean computer registry without removing or altering files that can cause additional errors. Because the registry is so sensitive a top rated registry cleaner needs the intuition to only remove files that are broken and redundant.
- Take a snapshot of our system and recommend areas that can be optimized. The best registry cleaners can identity sections that can be cleaned up and then offer to do it for you. This will do wonders for the speed and performance of your computer.
- Automatically create a backup of your registry folder. In case anything goes wrong you may need to revert to your original settings. By creating an automatic backup, the Microsoft registry cleaner will have eliminated any danger in altering Windows entries.
I cannot say enough about how much better your computer will feel when you have cleaned all the junk out of your registry. But please be sure to choose the best Microsoft registry cleaner you can find. Some of them can actually create more problems than they resolve! If you are interested I have reviewed some of the most popular Windows registry cleaner software using the criteria above.
