A question about Microsoft Excel please?

I never learned how to use Microsoft Excel and can only do basic things.
Right now, I am trying to make a spreadsheet that calculates my car payments, showing the total balance paid and also owed as I enter each bi-weekly payment. That is easy enough.

However, the last balance amount continues downward in the all the rows of a column and I would like to leave them blank until I enter the payment for that particular row. I'm not sure how to explain it so I have screen shot pictures here...

In picture A, the last amount in the Balance Owed and Balance Paid columns continues to repeat in the rows (in the green shaded area) and I want them to be blank like in Picture B at the bottom.

Please tell me how to do this.

=IF(cell number="","",your existing Balance equation here)

Where cell number would be the cell where you place your "Payment" value, eg: C3
