Step 1: Open the password protected word file, on the "Tools" menu, click "Options", and then click "Security". The placeholder symbols, usually appears as either asterisks (*) or bullets in the Password to open box or the Password to modify box that represent the existing document's password.

l To remove word 2003 password, delete the highlighted symbols, and then click "OK" to exit the "Options" windows.
l To change word 2003 password, type the new password, and then click "OK". Reenter the new password and then click "OK".

My elderly father phoned this morning to say he can't get into his desktop as ,although Windows starts, his password is not accepted. He's on broadband & Windows XP. He recently changed his phone - any connection ?? Please help me give him an answer !!
Doubt very much that there's any connection. Safe Mode, Admin, n add another user account or reset the password if you can.
