am i entitled or likely to get compensation from Microsoft after my x box 360 got the red ring of death?
i have got to send it back has any one else tryed this yet?
Are you entitled to compensation? Maybe, where "compensation" is defined as "repair or replacement at Microsoft's discretion". The "maybe" depends on whether your console is still under warranty, or has a 2005 build date (look on the back label for your build date). In either case, Microsoft will pay to ship the box back to them for repair ore replacement, and will ship it back to you (may take upwards of a couple weeks for the round trip). If you're no longer under warranty and your console was not built in 2005, you'll have to pay to have it fixed. The cost is around $100, which is still much better than buying a new one. Call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX to find out what your options are.

Microsoft is lifting the cost increase on Xbox Live on November 1
I hope that a little cash. Xbox Live is becoming a bit more expensive From November 1st in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. One month charge increases from $9.99 to $7.99, three months will cost $24.99 from $19.99 plan with an annual increase to $59.99 from $49.99. Why? Microsoft does not say, but we have some ideas.
ever heard Kinect ? Microsoft to track traffic controller? Do you have and its probably just hit the add-on also has to start in November. Microsoft may be used to slip one past holiday shoppers as the Xbox Live cards are likely to be bought together with the results Kinects easy to increase revenue.
Do not forget to phone Windows 7, though. Upcoming system integrates nicely with the gaming platform, which means that Live will soon deal with multiple product lines. Simple, modest and honest, the price increase is an easy way to the bottom line.
There is some silver lining here. Compensation current Live players, one year Live subscription is only $40 until November 1 price increase. Its nice.
