HOW DO YOU CALCULATE KINETIC AND POTENTIAL ENERGY ON MICROSOFT EXCEL 2003?
I have height and time. I know how to do it by hand but I have to have excel calculate it for me.
Please help, thank you 
Kinetic energy is equal to (mass x velocity^2) / 2
Potential energy gained, on earth, is equal to mass x gravitational field strength x height raised
So, you need to know:
1. Mass of the object in question, in Kilograms
2. The velocity, in meters per second
3. The gravitational field strength constant of the earth. which is 9.8 N/kg.
4. The height the object is raised, in meters
Excel formula for Kinetic energy in joules:
A1 = Mass (kg)
B1 = Velocity (m/sec)
Formula in C1: =(A1*B1^2)/2
For potential energy in Joules:
A1 = Mass (kg)
B1 = 9.8 (Earth's gravitational constant in Newtons/kg)
C1 = Height (meters)
Formula in D1: = -( A1*B1*C1)
Note: since gravity is an attractive force, potential energy is generally referred to as a negative number.

1) If GE goes under 15 and you have the ability to wait 12-18 months, it is definitely a buy. Accounting for its dividend of about 8%, which their CEO Immelt says is safe "through 2009," I think this stock is a good buy today, at $17.
2) Same with MSFT; I do not think, however, that this stock will reach $15 ever again. Again, if you have 18-36 months, I feel that MSFT will be a very good buy at today's (12/5/08) levels. Keep in mind that many top mutual funds own MSFT in their #1-4 slots.
