Great Plains Illinois VAR newsflash: Dynamics GP Upgrade
For Microsoft Dynamics GP customers, who are on old Great Plains versions: 9.0, 8.0, 7.5, 7.0, 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0 we would like to give highlights on upgrade to the newest version 10.0, including upgrade path, migration from Pervasive SQL 2000 or Ctree to MS SQL Server, even Great Plains Accounting for DOS and Windows migration to Dynamics GP. Normally upgrade is outsourced to Great Plains Consultant:
- GP 10.0 License. If you are current in Microsoft Business Solutions annual enhancement program, you should have access to all the versions of license keys. In the case, when you are not current in the program, you should contact your Dynamics GP Reseller or Microsoft directly to get detail on reenrollment procedure. There is also the possibility that you lapsed at the time, when GP 10 was already released, in this case, you can obtain from your historical Dynamics GP VAR license key to version 10
- Simple upgrade path. This is when you are on GP 9.0 or 8.0. In this case, please apply latest service pack for your current version, ask you Great Plains VAR to download SP for you from their Partner Source. Then install Dynamics GP 10.0 and, prior to launching GP Utilities upgrade, download and apply latest GP 10.0 Service Pack. Be sure that you do not have Dexterity customizations, or GP ISV add-ons – if you have one of those, please contact your Dexterity programmers and ISV on the subject of upgrade procedure for modifications
- Several Steps Upgrade Path. This is when you are on GP 7.5 and earlier versions, assuming that you are already on Microsoft SQL Server. If this is the case, you should contact your Dynamics GP consultant to design upgrade scenario. If you are on Pervasive SQL or Ctree, we recommend you to undertake migration to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on GP version 7.5
- Great Plains Accounting upgrade and migration. For GPA DOS or Windows 9.5 we could move you to Dynamics GP 7.5 to open the door to modern Great Plains Dynamics GP on Microsoft SQL Server for your organization
- Great Plains old version support. If you feel that you do not need version update at this time or probably indefinitely (especially when old GPA is for possible audit purpose and old transactions lookup), then feel free to call our office to mount old GPA or Dynamics on Pervasive SQL or Ctree on new computer or move it from the old one. We are comfortable travelling in Illinois to address downstate towns

(windows7key.us.com) is this a legitimate company?
I was looking around trying to find windows licenses for cheap, and i ran across this site. They claim to sell keys for microsoft products. I did a dns lookup on the web site, and apparently it is US based. I am still weary of this site, and was curious if anyone else had dealt with them before. Thanks in advance!
BTW: i thought the testimonials were a bit strange too. The one thing i have on my side, is the fact that paypal is the primary method of payment, and if i make a transaction through paypal for a product, and it is not satisfactory i can get my money back from paypal. I have been through this with shady ebay sellers, and i always get my money back on defective items.
ALSO, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY MS WINDOWS 7 LICENSES FOR CHEAP?
Thanks for the thorough response kind sir.
I think they're based in either Belize (based on the hosting trail) or China (based on the address), and I see no reason to think they're legitimate. I see at least two warning signs. One is the large number of testimonials, many of which seem bizarre in many ways. Another is the unreasonably low prices.
Check out the Baltimore address on the registration. It matches the one on 'msoftkey.net'. At least, it does now. They may change it. There are confirmed reports of 'msoftkey.net' selling MSDN keys.
These also seem to be the same guys (John Blas) that made the blog post in my link below. Does that post inspire confidence?
MSDN keys may work for awhile until Microsoft detects abuse on the MSDN account and disables it. Then your key will stop working. This may be longer than you have to dispute a PayPal transaction. Worse, others have reported that PayPal may say that you received the merchandise and just are unhappy with the quality and that they don't handle "merchandise quality disputes". So I can sell you a laptop, ship you a piece of paper, and PayPal may end the dispute when they see my proof that you received something from me.
You will get back a message from PayPal that says: "We're unable to decide this claim in your favor at this time. PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies to the shipment of goods but not to disputes about merchandise quality." (This does not apply if you buy through an eBay auction, only if you buy from their web site and pay with PayPal.)

Great Plains Support in Michigan: Consulting, Upgrade, Programming
Microsoft Dynamics GP or as it was formerly known Great Plains Dynamics, eEnterprise and Great Plains Accounting for DOS, Windows and Mac has large number of installations across the state. In some cases we see old Great Plains customers, who need support with such issues as moving GP or GPA from old server (WindowsNT, Novell) to new one: Windows 2008 or 2003 and they need professional to redeploy Pervasive SQL 2000. You may need version upgrade with several required steps, especially when you move from Great Plains Accounting for DOS up to current version Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, or when you are migrating from Pervasive SQL/Btrieve or Ctree to Microsoft SQL Server. We'll try to give you some technology highlights, assuming that you are IT consultant:
1. Supporting old pre-MS SQL Server version of Great Plains. These would be Great Plains 7.5, 7.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0 and earlier (usually you do not see instances, earlier than 5.0) on Pervasive SQL 2000/Btrieve or Ctree/Faircom. In some cases you may have Great Plains Dynamics for Macintosh (usually version 5.0 or 4.0). If you are one of these archaic versions, you probably do not have annual enhancement contract with Microsoft and you do not have access to Dynamics GP Customer Source to lookup knowledge base for possible causes and solutions. Well, old Great Plains versions (except Great Plains Accounting 9.5, 9.2 and earlier) are somewhat similar in functionality and even in user interface (at least UI should be recognizable) to the recent versions and your local Dynamics GP consultant should be able to help. Data repair is normally via such utilities as Check Links, Clear Data, Rebuild and Microsoft Access (where you connect to Pervasive SQL DB as set of linked tables)
2. Great Plains Dynamics Programming. New versions have such cool tools as eConnect, Extender, Visual Studio Libraries. With older versions you probably have Great Plains Dexterity customizations, Modifier with VBA, Integration Manager with VBA even handlers, Continuum, ReportWriter, Crystal, Microsoft Access reports. Microsoft Dexterity is still one of the most popular modification options and if you have legacy Dexterity customization, you need Dexterity programmer to help you with custom add-on version upgrade
3. Michigan specifics. We see high demand for such Dynamics GP extensions as Warehouse Management (barcode scanning based) and eCommerce (connected with WMS). Also in auto parts or government contracting related manufacturing or production business we see the need in automatic workflow and batches posting (to import Manufacturing Orders automatically, handle them with some exceptions and post all the way through the General Ledger). For healthcare providers we see good value in Microsoft CRM integration with Dynamics GP (where all your customers and prospects are stored in Microsoft CRM and you have less expensive MS CRM user licenses for your sales people)
4. Local service in Michigan. Please call us 269-605-0330 or 1-866-528-0577, or preferred email us [email protected] Our ideal customer is in Central our South Western Michigan, around Grand Rapids, Lansing, Benton Harbor, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Holland, Muskegon, Grand Haven, South Haven, St. Joseph. If you are in rural or country side areas, we are happy to come out onsite few times to shake hands with your key people and then establish instant remote connection via web sessions, we are in XXI century anyway, smile
