New HP Laptop w/ Windows Vista, want to Delete Unneeded Programs?

I just received my new HP laptop which I'm enjoying already. I've had a Toshiba before and never deleted unneeded programs, so it kind of ran terribly. I'm going through and deleting things I know I don't need just fine - like trial this, game that, etc. etc.

My question is, what programs should I be absolutely sure to keep installed and not delete? I'm talking, absolute requisite in order for the computer to turn on/off, for the mouse to work, to go online (I got Firefox downloaded immediately), and operate most other basic functions. My primary usage for the computer will be internet, music storage/playing, and I have a brand new, non-trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 to install so I just kicked off the trial version.

Sorry for the long nature of this question. I used to be completely ignorant of computers and I'm working hard to improve my literacy and make sure this one performs well.

Thank you!

all hp software plus all trialware, honestly there is no program on there that you absolute need for vista to work, so just keep whatever you need
