Microsoft Dynamics NAV is especially designed for midsized companies and it is appropriate for the needs of manufacturing and distribution companies. Small manufacturing units find it very useful and although it claims to be suitable for companies up to five hundred employees, it is best to be used by those who have fewer than three hundred. However, it has features and advantages that make it very popular and the fact that it is produced under the Microsoft umbrella also contributes to its popularity. Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a way of simplifying and automating all the business processes because its modules cover the entire activity of a company.

1. Financial management
2. Human resources management (HRM)
3. Supply chain management (SCM)
4. Manufacturing

6. Business intelligence and reporting
7. Customer relationship management (CRM)
8. Workspace optimization

Microsoft Dynamics NAV comes with multi-language, multi-locations and multi-units features which makes it very flexible and suitable for complex business processes. Compared with other Microsoft products it offers a high degree of flexibility and customization. The fact that it integrates with other Microsoft applications, like MS Office or MS Visio makes it easier to use and more friendly. Employees already familiar with the interface of MS Office for instance will find it a lot easier to use this new software and implementation will be accelerated. Its integration with Microsoft SharePoint Server makes data transmission from other locations and transactions outside the office accessible.

Business owners have the opportunity to make the best decisions using Microsoft Dynamics NAV because they have quick access to specific information and they can also use comprehensive reporting tools. The reports can be easily modified taken into consideration particular requirements one might have and they can be exported to other applications.

dvd burner dont work?

I have used different disks, and a number of different programs. I have uninstalled the drive and rebooted...computer found the new hardware. Still did not work, i updated all my drivers. I also did a few other tests on the Microsoft page. Still it doesn't work. It will play a dvd, and burn a audio cd. But it will not burn a dvd. I am stumped...anyone have any suggestions

My computer is a dell desktop E310
Device type: DVD/CD-ROM drives
Manufacture: (Standard CD-ROM drives
Location: Location 0 (0)

I think it has SATA too
THANKS!!

There are essentially two different types of DVD drives:
1) those that are Read Only Memory (ROM)
2) those that Read and Write (RW)

It is very possible that you have a drive that reads and writes CDs, but only reads DVDs. What you want is a DVD+/-RW drive. Try going to Best Buy. They can install it for you too.

Just an FYI..... if you ever want to make a "backup" copy of a CD or DVD, you can now do that with Slysoft software. For a DVD, you'll need both "AnyDVD" and "CloneDVD". For a CD, you just need "CloneCD".

I have even discovered that this software will let you read and burn DVDs that were encoded from foreign regions - a major plus.

Good luck!

The History Of Microsoft Navision

Most people may not be aware of it but Microsoft NAV, formerly known as Navision, has been in the industry for quite some time now.  They first came on to the market in 1984 under Personal Computing & Consulting and has undergone a number of name changes ever since.

Currently known as an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software from Microsoft, the first generation of Navision already featured Integrated Development Environment or IDE which allowed developers to customize the system to suit the particular needs of the client. It is able to run across different platforms and has an ODBC interface.

By 2000, Navision Software A/S merged with Damgaard A/S to become NavisionDamgaard A/S. The name was later changed to Navision A/S. Two years after, Microsoft bought Navision A/S and partnered it with Great Plains. Navision then became part of Microsoft Business Solutions which also handled the Microsoft CRM. 2005 saw the rebranding and re-introduction of Navision as Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Microsoft Business Solutions Navision was made with the companies engaged in distribution and manufacturing in mind. It uses a Business Ready License which gives the client the ability to purchase as many user sessions as needed. It also makes use of RoleTailored User Experience which gives the user instant access to the information that he or she would primarily need, and hides other details that are not as important.

As part of the Microsoft Business Solution family, NAV provides the user support in the areas of Business Intelligence, Financial Management, Human Resources Management, Manufacturing, Project Management, Sales and Marketing, Service Management, and Supply Chain Management. It also has mobility features that allow anyone with Windows Mobile-based device to seamlessly check and generate reports. NAV can also provide support for business organizations running multiple sites regardless of the size and location as well as the type of business.

With NAV as part of the Microsoft Business Solution family, any client would definitely not have a hard time getting used to this system. It is very user-friendly and can be set to run in a matter of hours. And since it is backed by Microsoft, it could seamlessly run via Microsoft Vista as well as make use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
