What is the best alternative to Microsoft Powerpoint for putting together training presentations?

Powerpoint may be the recognised standard for this but it lacks several features, such as progress tracking. Also my staff can easily cheat in the quizzes I will be adding to the end of the presentation.
Please no answers on what to do with powerpoint, it isn't up to the job. Have already used it extensively.

Help with Microsoft Access (Staff Rota)?

I have just learnt how to create a database in access, i have tables for staff (names,job section fields) pattern (hours and days off over week) Rotation (week number, pattern ID) and finally a Rotation table and week commencing Sun, week number table.
I can create a report fine with this information on it, it's one long report though! I want access to ask for a Sun commencing date when opening the report and then just display that section of the report with the following, Staff, Week number, Wc date, Section, Sun,Mon,Tue,Weds,Thur,Fri,Sat.

What you need to do there is to create a query to extract that information and then base the report on the query, not on the table/s
