Google And Apple - What Do We Do When Mom And Dad Are Fighting?

I don't know about you, but when I first read about the rift developing between Google and Apple, I felt confused and torn.  It's as if I needed to run up to my room and put my head under by Chewbaca pillow and suck my thumb until I could faintly hear make-up sex. I am a Google Addict and all I have ever owned in terms of a computer is Apple (about 26 products in my lifetime).  I guess it was only a matter of time that this would happen.  Since Google espouses cloud computing and Apple is based on hardware, I didn't think the love-fest would last forever.

It all started back in the summer of '75.  Mom worked for Xerox, while Dad, in an effort to get his computer company going, "borrowed" the functionality of Xerox's OS to run on Apple computers.  Yet the two of them had not met.  A few years later Mom became CTO at Sun Microsystems, now owned by Larry Ellison, the godfather of cloud computing and CEO of Oracle Systems.  Mom was fascinated by this free thinker Ellison.  Dad managed to capture a small percent of the newly emerging computer market place.  A mega beast named Gates ravaged the country side. Schmidt and Ellison teamed up to vanquish the monster, but got kicked in the nuts when the PC defeated the NC and came to dominate the market.  As for Jobs, no matter how cool his computers looked, he could only get 3% to 4% of the market share - a nut kicking in it's own right.  Microsoft was the creature from Cloverfield (let's be honest - it was Godzilla).  The radioactive behemouth slept unaware that his time was coming.  When it did, Ellison dealt the first blow by becoming director of Apple.  Next the venture capitalists that funded Oracle, Sun and Apple - struck.  Google was bought and Schmidt steps in as CEO and pioneers Ellison's cloud technic around a popular search engine.  Jobs strikes next with his iPod, which eventually becomes a miniature computer you carry in your pocket.  Ellison left Apple before the beast was stunned by the formation of the Schmidt/Jobs Mecha Robot.

The fusion of Mom and Dad only seemed natural, as if the sun came up, the ice melted away, and birds found meal worms for their young.  Is it too hoaky to say, "everything was right with the universe"?  Well It sure felt like it.  Us kids loved the playdates that Mom and Dad dropped us off for.  Google was very smooth on a mac and integrated nicely with Safari.  Aside from Google's own internal Bugs that showed up on every computer, the access and interface were far more pleasant than that on a PC.

Speaking for myself, when I realized how fantastic the suite of Google Applications (and their constant invisible upgrades) were, I pretty quickly became use to working in the cloud.  I was already Anti-MS, thus I used Neo-Office, the Open source product from one of Schmidt's earlier involvements, Novell.  But shuttling file based word docs between FTP and VPN, became cumbersome.  Google Docs however let me start at the office, and finish at Home.  Cue another Song - Johnny Nash - I can see clearly now... (you get it).  In fact, this article you are reading right now has been written between many computers.  To continue, as I developed under the watchful eye of Mother, my needs started expanding i.e. the need for something more portable to work on.  Then Father gave us the iPhone, which gave rise to rumors of the much anticipated Tablet.

Yes the elusive Tablet.  For many of us it was like spotting Big Foot or... Godzilla.  It wasn't really going to happen, but it was nice to day-dream.  But when you are a kid, daydreaming get's you in trouble.  The teacher writes a note and sends it home.  Mom and Dad apply some kind of punishment thinking you'll learn your lesson.  Then you go on day-dreaming.  But during that Summer of '06, the day-dreaming stopped.  The iPhone was all but guaranteed, yet no one had seen it or knew fully of it's capabilities.  We all started speculating what magnificent products will come from this union.  The list was infinite and we were back to day-dreaming (of the possibilities)

Now that the Tablet is finally here, the 3 years of bliss was all for nothing.  Dad had to go patent touch screen technology and Mom couldn't just develop Android.  Nooooooo.  The two of them couldn't help trouncing on each other's turf.  This really boils down to Mom went behind Dad's back and started messing around with HTC.  And so Dad is now suing Mom's lover in order to make her look less attractive in the market.  At this point, it's just lawyers sounding like the adults from Charlie Brown.  And I was really looking forward to running Chrome OS on my Mac.

if torrents offer almost everything for free why havent companies like Microsoft and others gone bankrupt?

i want to download microsoft word processor 7 through torrents, but my mom is skeptical. she claims that if everyone could get this thing for free, all companies would go bankrupt. and that is true, if everyone could get something for free rather than spending money, why havent companies gone bankrupt? of course its not easy to torrent, but with practice every one could get the basics down.

everybody does not use pirated software....in fact most official companies and organizations and a lot of individuals too buy original software.....especially if they use the software for commercial purposes....
original software has many advantages like free from viruses and spyware, free updates, registration and other benefits from the company..... it feels great to be sure that you and not gonna get in trouble....original software = peace of mind

What Is All The Buzz Around Obama's Scholarships For Moms Program?

There is a lot of buzz about President Obama creating a scholarship program specifically for moms. To a certain extent, this is true. His American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has revamped funding for higher education, providing higher tuition allotments that are easier to obtain by everyone. But, if you run a search on the words "scholarship for moms," or any variation, the top of the results page is always the same. Is this the president's initiative? It turns out that it isn't. This URL is a "landing site" for an educational awareness project designed by a collaboration of colleges called Project Working Mom: Putting Education to Work. The program offers $2 million in scholarships to moms, $10,000 per recipient. Most of the scholarships are by and for online universities. Of course there are other school funding options for mothers in the private sector. Women who have a background in IT or are just interested in technology are eligible for the AT&T Labs Fellowship Program. The Microsoft Scholarship Program offers many grant programs to women, minorities, and the disabled who are working towards a Bachelor's Degree in the computer science fields. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) National Scholarship Program is known for awarding grants based on financial need, while the Target All-Around Scholarship is geared towards those who are heavily involved in a public service. And, women can find money for school through the Sam Walton Community Scholarship which targets those who live in communities that have a Sam's Club or Wal-Mart nearby. But, all financial aid searches should begin with the Free Application for Student Aid which is the eligibility application for federal financial aid. It is through federal grant money that moms can partake in Obama's ARRA initiative. Make sure to explore all avenues and before long you will be reaping the rewards of being a college graduate.
