What do i need to learn....VB? .NET? Other?

I currently have an excel spreadsheet that I need to make more automated and functional for the user end in mind. This is an extremely complex multi-tabed monster that takes 15 minutes to "calculate" and I just want to make this more simplified for a user end to update/play with it.

So, I want to learn how to create forms, buttons, kewl transitions to add some functionality to as well as make it aesthetically pleasing. I'd also like to be able to embed charts into forms if possible and stuff.....I dunno if that's possible. NEways, I don't know what to learn alls i know is that when i right click the tab and up comes the "microsoft visual basic" console, I throw up a little in my mouth and feel very lost. I want to be an expert at this stuff but don't evne know where to start. I am a total excel guru, but i want to take it to the next level.

Anyone out there able to help? Is this going to take me a long time to learn it?

You are on the right track. The language you will want to learn, the one that pops up in the Visual Basic console, is referred to as VBA - Visual Basic for Applications. It is basically a compact version of Visual Basic, and can be used to do all kinds of powerful things in Excel, Access, and even Word.
I would suggest doing some searches through Google or some other search engine for "VBA MS Excel" and see what you find. It does take a little bit of time to learn, and if you have no other programming experience, you may want to pick up a book on VB programming. I would not get something about VB.Net though, because even though it is very similar, it is also more powerful than VBA, and has alot of built in classes and libraries that don't exist in VBA, so you will end up being very frustrated trying to use things that simply don't exist in VBA.
