Windows Vista Sidebar, Gadgets, Easy Wireless Networking and Improved Back Features by M. Aslam
Microsoft has tried to put âactiveâ items on the Windows desktop for nearly
a decade. Finally, with Vistaâs Sidebar success seems within grasp. Stability problems that dogged previous versions arenât as readily apparent â" which is to say, Sidebar doesnât crash nearly as often as, say, Active Desktop in Windows XP â" and the items it offers actually help.
The items in the Sidebar, termed Gadgets, can interact with you, with Windows,
with files and folders, with your network, and with other Gadgets. Vista ships with a handful of moderately interesting Gadgets â" a clock (you can put more than one clock on your desktop, each set to a different time zone).
Many other features â" Put Vista head and shoulders above XP. The standout features include the following:
âImproved backup (although no backup exists in the Home Basic Edition).
âPhoto management (via Photo Gallery, not in Home Basic).
âSecond monitor support
âEasy wireless networking.
âVista also helps you burn DVDs, but watch out for the digital rights
Microsoft Windows Vista provides several accessories for Tablet PCs, including Input Panel, Snipping Tool, Sticky Notes, and Windows Journal. All of these accessories use Tablet PC pens, which improve accessibility by making it easier to work with computers. Additionally, people who might not be able to use a computer keyboard and mouse might be able to use a Tablet PC pen as an alternative input device.
As in earlier versions of Microsoft Windows, Windows Vista includes many other features that improve accessibility, including the Filter Keys, Sticky Keys, and High Contrast functions and the Narrator, Magnifier, and On-Screen Keyboard utilities. In Windows Vista, these features have all been enhanced, and most have completely redesigned interfaces. Windows Vista also includes speech recognition software. Using speech recognition, you can dictate documents and e-mail messages, and you can use your voice to control programs and browse the Web.

Who Cares About Vista Animated Desktop Backgrounds?
Windows 7 permits you to decide on desktop themes with just 1 very simple mouse click. It is quite effortless to alter the appear and feel of the desktop-and save any modifications in existing themes. It also gives a swift path to download a lot more themes directly from Microsoft's website. Windows 7 also contains help for "theme packs"; theme packs are essentially cabinet files with.themepack extension.
Windows 7 is barely out and folks are reporting terrific outcomes with the operating system? But what comes next?
Themepack files consist of a.theme file and also a amount of icon, sound, mouse cursor and image files. If opened, it'll change the computer's theme based on the theme contained inside. It is also attainable to have a dynamic Windows 7 theme by specifying an RSS feed, which will download the newest files of a theme.
The main thing I would like to see inside the next operating system after Microsoft Windows 7 would be enhanced graphics and customization capabilities. I'd like to see Active Desktop brought back and made secure. I have missed Active Desktop since it was discontinued with 64-bit XP and Vista's widget sidebar which they claim created up for the loss of Active Desktop is no comparison. I utilized Active Desktop to place animated graphics on my desktop as links to my favorite webpages and would have used it to add animated icons if the potential had been there.
Another thing I would like to see within the subsequent operating program beyond Windows 7 is system launching from your browser & program launching from locally made webpages. I have been attempting for years to develop my own locally stored webpages and use them as a plan launcher & I'm not alone in this desire either. Microsoft claims they eliminated this feature for security reasons, but I would very much rather be in a position to use my personal computer like I would like to than not have the ability. There are quite a few other alternatives I can use to launch my programs but I would like to centralize my computer usage about my browser and do every thing with it which includes plan launching.
The third issue I would like to see in Windows Eight is native animated icon support. The computers of currently have both the processing power and memory capabilities to serve such a function however it will not be offered in any version of Windows and also the 3rd parties options when out there are buggy and don't operate well. Animated effects on the taskbar, windows, browsers, and program search bars would be welcome additions as well.
