Is there any way to recover a Microsoft Word Document that I opened from an email attachment?
I opened an email attachment for a word document and used "open" rather than "save". I started typing, and I hit the save button, but forgot that it was in a temp file. When I closed it, it didn't ask me if I wanted to save it, it just closed, and I realized then that I never saved it to my hard drive. Is there any way to recover this file?
You should be able to run a search (Start-> Search-> Files & Folders) and locate the temporary directory and the file.
Also, it may have saved IN the email. Re-Open the Email and the attachment and see if it is still there.
Another option may be to open Word and click on File, go down to the bottom of the options, the name of the file should be there, open from that point.
