Microsoft Office 2007 Free Trial:

Be prepared for culture shock, though. Here are some tips for adjusting to it:

Most of what used to be under Tools->Options is now accessible this way:

1.Click the round Office button in the upper-left corner of the window.
2.Click the Word Options button.

The ALT key, if pressed by itself, will bring up flags for some of the old ALT keysrokes that may help.

Similarly, ALT/F goes to the Office button’s file menu. At least some of the secondary keystrokes (ALT/F A for File->Save As, for instance), seem to still be there.

Many of the old keyboard shortcuts (CTRL/A, CTRL/S, CTRL/O, for instance) still work.

Most of the old dialog boxes are still there, often one level under the Ribbon's interface. In particular, any group on a Ribbon tab that has a little arrow in the lower right corner leads to that old familiar dialog box when you click the arrow.

Remember the right-click and use it. It’s still the fastest way to Font and Paragraph.

Hope that helps.

How can I lock a Microsoft Word 2007 TRIAL document?

I could find how to lock documents on Microsoft Word 2007 documents, but how do you do it on a trial? It says to go to 'tools,' but I can't find a 'tools' option on my trial.

That mention of Tools sounds like the instructions for a version pre-2007. Here's how on a 2007 document, trial or full:

1.Click the round Office button in the upper-left corner of the window.
2.Click Prepare, then Encrypt.
3.Enter a password in the list box. WRITE THIS PASSWORD DOWN. IT'S TOO DARN EASY TO FORGET IT WHEN YOU NEED IT AGAIN.
4.Click OK.
5.Re-enter the password.
6.Click OK again.

Hope that helps.
